PHOTO: Thai Elephant Conservation Center

Elephant mahout training camp in Lampang, Thailand

With my elephant, Wanalee.

In a recent interview with lovely Amanda of A Dangerous Business, I was asked what my favorite travel experience has been thus far. I immediately thought of my time at the Thai Elephant Conservation Center in Lampang, Thailand. I spent some of the best days of my life at this wonderful place. Want to know what my version of crack is, or what I think about sloth bears? Read the whole interview here.

This photo is part of my Meatless Monday series, where I share a new travel photo each week. Because who likes to read on Mondays? Make sure your Mondays are always meatless by signing up for my RSS feed!

  1. Excellent photo! Wanalee looks so friendly

  2. This is a wonderful experience! We’ve done it as well in a small camp about 2 hours away from Chiang Mai. How long did you stay there for?
